We will remain closed until Tuesday, September 6th. 2) We had an overwhelming outpouring of support from those who have offered to volunteer. Founded in 1974, the Humane Society of Skagit Valley started in a small, volunteer-built building. When Janine started working for the humane society in the 80s, they were receiving upwards of 4,000 animals a year.
